You are Invited to 2024 MAKE US ONE CONFERENCE, September 13th and 14th at the DoubleTree Hotel in Rochester, New York.

Why Have A Make Us One Conference?

John chapter 17 is Jesus’ priestly prayer before His sacrifice on the cross. In that prayer, He expresses several times His earnest desire for His followers to be one. John 17 gives us hope! His words in verse 21 are, “I pray that they will all be one, just as you and I are one—as you are in me, Father, and I am in you. And may they be in us so that the world will believe you sent me.” Our unity and oneness in Christ will be a compelling reason for unbelievers to become believers in Christ.

Furthermore, the evidence of true Christianity is stated in John 13:35. Jesus said, “By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”  The love displayed by a unified Church will be the primary characteristic identifying those who are truly His disciples, and the love that Christians have for one another will be the most effective witness of our faith in Christ.  The unbelievers will believe when we are one!

The Make Us One Conference has two primary goals. First, in the face of growing divisions and a fractured society, true believers in Christ should make every effort to maintain and proclaim that there is one body and one Spirit and one Lord and one faith; we are One!

Second, the Conference seeks to maximize the witness of Jesus Christ and the manifestation of His Glory throughout our region by the unity of the Spirit which is at work in and through the Church. (Eph 4:1-8)

What Does a MUO Conference Look Like?

The Make Us One Conference has four primary components:

  • The Concert of Prayer— Prayer is the place where God is lifted up and His glory becomes first and foremost in all that we do.  While in God’s presence, the Lord draws people to Himself, and the walls and barriers that keep us separate from Him and from one another are dismantled and demolished.

  • Marketplace Ministry Fair – A gathering of table exhibits by local Christian ministries and Christian owned local (for-profit) businesses that operate their businesses in a manner that bears witness to their faith in Jesus Christ.  The exhibitors are asked to be able and willing to share or testify about their God given ministry vision as well as what God is doing in their ministries, how he is touching the lives of people in the marketplace, and how they are advancing His Kingdom 'on earth as it is in heaven'. The composite of these ministries represent but a small sampling of the many members of the body of Christ working in unity for the Kingdom of God.

Please note:  For-profit businesses can not sell products and/or services at the conference.  Also, this is a non-political conference and therefore not the appropriate forum for political committees and/or political action committees (PACs).

  • Proclamation and Teaching of the Word of God – “The only kind of unity that glorifies God is unity which is rooted and grounded in the truth. God’s word is truth.”  In breakout sessions, the round-table discussion, and in messages from the speakers, God’s word will address relevant issues to build up the body of Christ and to promote unity in the faith.

  • Fellowship and Bridge Building – Pastor John Piper said, “The public effectiveness of our unity is not at the level of institutional oneness or collaboration, as though the absence of denominations would be a compelling witness to the world. Rather, the public effectiveness of our unity is when unbelievers see on the ground attitudes and acts of love among believers.”
