The Trumpet Call For The 11th Hour Laborers - Japan Mission Trip

In the ‘Land of the Rising Sun’, Japan, the Church of Jesus Christ is experiencing a fresh move of God. Since the Covid pandemic, more people are turning to Jesus and increasing numbers are attending church and being baptized.  Nevertheless, Japan is desperate for answers to major societal problems, such as a shrinking economy, a dwindling labor force, high divorce and suicide rates, and still, less than one percent of the country’s population  are true Christians. The Church of Jesus Christ in Japan is the only hope for the future, and the younger generations are more open to the gospel than ever before. We preached  about freedom in Christ—freedom from sin, freedom from man-made laws and traditions, and freedom from the evil spiritual forces in this world.

Our Service in Japan

Japan Mission

As the gospel choir in one church sang, “How excellent, glorious, and wonderful is the name of Jesus,” it expressed the earnest desire of Christians to see the name of Jesus spread throughout Japan by means of fervent prayer, evangelism and discipleship initiatives, and new church plants in unevangelized places.

In Japan, we also spent valuable time going to the homes of missionary families (five families in total), serving as missionary care pastors. In this capacity, we were missionaries to missionaries, addressing their felt needs and helping to insure the well-being of these overseas workers. What a privilege it was for us to listen to their unique life experiences, to affirm and encourage, and to pray with these fathers,

mothers, and children, all who have courageously answered the call of God to serve long-term in a different country. Imagine what a challenge it is to leave behind close family ties and friends, learn a different language and customs, raise your children in very culturally diverse schools, adjust to new methods and approaches of presenting the gospel of Christ, and confront different levels and degrees of spiritual warfare. Our personal times spent with these missionary families were just as important and impactful as our ministry within the local churches.
